At the top of an ancient village of Alto Monferrato, already lapped by the sea wind that crosses the Apennines, stands the castle of Melazzo surrounded by a vast park and imposing crenellated bastions, which preserves a past full of ancient events and presences. In excellent structural and maintenance conditions, largely original even internally. Its origins date back to the 11th century, built by the Counts of Acquesana. It was a strategic center for the control of the Erro valley on the sea route. St. Guy was born there and, always at the castle, is linked the adventurous story of King Edward the Plantageto, deposed king in England who stayed here protected by the pope from 1330 to 1333. The total area of the complex is 7000 square meters of which about 6000
